The Park Kaziranga National Park Is located on the bank of river Brahmaputra in north-eastern Assam state in India. The Park is famous for its greatest density of tigers among protected areas in the world and two-thirds of the world’s great one- horned Rhinoceroses. A breeding heaven for Avian and creatures, the Kaziranga covers a broad field of 430-Sq-Km and to maintain the precious flora and fauna, it was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1940. There are mainly 3 types of Vegetation located in Kaziranga National Park and contains subsequent the alluvial inundated grasslands, The tropical moist evergreen forests and the tropical semi-evergreen woods.
Flora includes around 41 percent Tall grasses, 11% short grasses, 29% open jungles, 4 percent swamps, 8 percent rivers and water bodies and 6 percent sand. Fauna The wildlife sanctuary Famous as the breeding grounds of this one-horned Indian rhinoceros, in Assam includes a wide assortment of wildlife. Largest population of the Great Indian one-horned Rhinoceros 1,855 Substantial populations of large herbivores include elephants 1,940 seven species of vultures. Another major wild attractions include a large population of Indian Bison, Swamp Deer or Barasingha, Hog Deer, Sloth Bears, Tigers, Leopard Cats, Jungle Cats, Otters, Hog Badgers, Capped Langurs, Hoolock Gibbons, Wild Boar, Jackal, Wild Buffalo, Pythons, Monitor Lizards etc.
